David Baranowski, Music Director

David Baranowski was named Artistic Director of the Westchester Choral Society in 2021 after serving as Assistant Director and Accompanist for several years. He is also the Artistic Director of the Hudson Chorale.

David is a highly versatile conductor and musician, performing with equal virtuosity on piano, keyboard, organ, and harpsichord. He has played and directed numerous chamber and choral concerts in New York and Connecticut, conducted Cosi fan tutte for the Delaware Valley Opera, and was music director and conductor for The Wild Party and Crazy for You for the Music Theater department at Western Connecticut State University.

For the past eighteen years, David has been touring internationally with rock icon Ritchie Blackmore, as both keyboardist and singer. He has played over 100 concerts and visited nearly 25 countries as a member of Blackmore’s Night, which has been on the charts in Germany, Czech Republic, Russia, England, and the United States. He has also appeared on German television multiple times, and was featured on the prim-time programs Hit Giganten and Fernseharten, reaching millions of viewers. He appears on several concert DVDs that have earned Double Gold status in Germany and other European countries. David has also collaborated with Irish pop singers and composer, Julie Feeney, and in the spring of 20212 he played keyboard for Ms. Feeney’s 10 performances at the Irish Arts Center in Manhattan on WNYC’s Soundcheck.

Mr. Baronowski is currently the Director of Music at the Salisbury Congregational church, as well as a music professor at Western Connecticut State University, teaching music theory, ear training, and piano. David studied piano with Paul Ostrovsky and Steven Rubin, organ with Robert Fertitta, voice with Stefano Altieri, and conducting with Mark Bailey. He received both his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Purchase College Conservatory of Music.

Marnus Greyling, Assistant Director and Accompanist

Marnus Greyling obtained a BMus degree cum laude from the University of Pretoria, studying organ performance with Wim Viljoen – a former student of Marie-Claire Alain and Jean Langlais. He completed a Master of Music degree at the University of Cambridge (Jesus College, 2017), receiving a Cambridge Instrumental Award for organ, and studied organ with Gordon Stewart, while working closely with Christopher Robinson on Anglican choral music as organ scholar of Downing College.

Marnus has performed extensively in his native country South Africa, in England, Wales, as well as in Sweden, Lithuania and the United States. He is a guest conductor and organist for Vox Cantab, a UK based choir made up of former Cambridge choral scholars and has performed with them several times, most recently at St David’s Cathedral, Wales. He is currently Director of Music at St Barnabas Episcopal in Greenwich, CT, with its highly regarded choral tradition, and renowned Richards, Fowkes & Co. Opus One pipe organ.
